Christmas 2017 Prep

We had a bit of an awkward December this year, in part due to the Thomas Fire.  We, Shaun and I, had 5 school days cancelled and the girls had 1.  This actually gave me some time to get organized because it has been so busy at our house that I wasn't able to get very far ahead.  I was able to get help baking from Zoe this year and that was a tremendous help.  Shaun made chocolate chip cookies and helped with the sugar cookies too.  Kylee loved using the cooking cutters this year.  With all the help, we made almost 20 dozen!  All of our colleagues got a taste and our neighbors got their annual bunch of cookies.  We brought some to my parents' house too.  The girls attempted to work together on the gingerbread house this year, but we quickly learned that Mommy still needs to give directives in order to be successful with that task.  There's always next year.  We found the Santa's Letters that shrink in the oven and the girls loved writing their letters and watching them shrink in the oven.  After they shrunk, we put them around Elf Steve's neck and he took them to Santa that night.  Our last baking project was the danishes pictured above...they were delicious!
