I Couldn't Resist!

I have already written two blogs for this week, but I couldn't resist sharing these pics with everyone right away. Last night Zoe slept much better! Yipee! That makes the days go smoother. She slept until 5:15, then I fed her and she went down for another two hours. We concluded that she just went through a growth spurt, so that caused the fussiness and irregular sleep patterns for her. The first picture is of her standing up, holding onto the ottoman. Shaun even let go of her and she held herself up! I think we may have an early walker...yikes!

Zoe has a New Cousin!

Zoe has a new cousin! Khloe Kuhn was born on Sunday, July 26th. She was 7 lbs., 13 oz. and 19 inches long. Zoe can't wait to meet her new cousin, but unfortunately she will have to wait a long while. Khloe lives across the country from us and she may come to visit at the beginning of next year, sometime. We will post a picture, only if we get Khloe's mommy and daddy's approval :).

Zoe is Transitioning to Formula...Yuck!!!

Wow! We never realized what a difference it is to formula feed. It is smellier in all aspects...not to mention it takes longer for the little one to digest. Zoe started with 3 oz. breast milk and a half ounce formula for about a week and a half, now she is drinking 2 and a half ounces of BM and 1 oz. of formula. She has been doing that for about a week and we are about to start giving her half and half. Maybe in about 3 weeks, she will be 100% formula fed. I pumped for as long as I could...

Zoe has been such a trooper this week...she must be growing and she sure is slobbering A LOT!!! I checked for teeth and/or swollen gums, but I don't think there's anything yet. Phew!!! She has been putting herself down for her naps now. Yeah!!! She takes her small silky and relaxes for a few minutes, then just conks right out. We are still working on her going down on her own for the night. She hasn't been sleeping as well as she is capable of, but we've been trying to figure out what works best for her in her crib and how to adjust the temperature to make her the most comfortable. Thanks to Papa and Daddy, she now has a ceiling fan...Papa and Daddy had to crawl in the hot attic to rewire the electricity. We now have two bedrooms with fans and one to go!

Zoe is starting to get big enough for 3-6 month clothing. She will be 16 weeks on Saturday!!! We can't believe how FAST time flies. She is reaching and grabbing some of her toys, still talking like crazy and loves to stand on our laps.

Zoe is Such a Ham!

Shaun and I took Zoe to get her pictures taken today. We happened to be in Sears the other day, to beat the afternoon heat, and the picture lady stopped us and gave us a coupon for a free 10x13. Of course we can't pass up free pics of our little princess, so we went in and Zoe did pretty well. Shaun said we are just suckers when it comes to pictures of her, so we couldn't just get one! We bought a package that gave us the cd of pics, so this one is our favorite.

All the Old Email Updates...

For my own record and those of you who haven't seen the email updates since Zoe was born...this took me all day to cut and paste and drag pictures, but it is all worth it! It should have been the first blog, but oh well! :)

Zoe Rae Blumfield was born on April 11, 2009. It was such a long process and a sleepless night for my mom and Shaun, but Saturday morning was the best day of our lives. Zoe came out looking like a spitting image of her daddy, Shaun. The next day was Easter, and we brought an Easter outfit for her to wear while we were in the hospital. We had to stay an extra night because I was given an IV with antibiotics and they were not finished until mid-Easter Sunday, so unfortunately I was stuck at the hospital for one more night. Once at home, I recooped quickly and adapted to our new routine of waking up every 3 hours.

We sent out birth announcements shortly after Zoe was born with all of her statistics and three pictures. She was born on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 9:50 am. When she was measured, she weighed 6 lbs., 13 oz. and was 19.75 in. long. And of course Shaun and I are the proud parents.

Hi Everyone! Zoe is doing so well! She holds her head up like a champ now, coos all of the time, and smiles so much. We were so excited to introduce Zoe to her friends, Jackson and Addison, this weekend. We always enjoy visiting with them and now it will be fun to see the kids grow up together.
Hope to see you all very soon!

Hello Everyone! It has been a hectic few weeks, so there's a few pictures to catch you up on Zoe's growth. Shaun's last day of school was Friday, so Zoe and I are definitely enjoying having Daddy home! Zoe is smiling, cooing, and growing like we cannot believe! So much so, that the last few nights she has slept somewhere between 6 1/2 to 8 hours! Hope everyone is well!
Love,
Shaun, Erica, and Zoe

Hello Everyone! Zoe is just the most wonderful little one ever! She is 10 lbs 9 oz (which is in the 25th percentile) and 22 inches long (which is in the 19th percentile). Sooooo we would like to say she's our little bean. She had her first shots last week and was such a champ. Sleep is wonderful and Zoe thinks so too! We have reached up to 8 and a half hours of sleep on some nights...averaging about 7. That makes us happy campers!!! Best of all she not only coos and smiles a lot, but today she giggled!!! It was the best. Zoe is going on her very first flight to Montana on Friday, so we'll see how well she travels :) We are planning to put together a blog, so we will let you know when it's up an running.

Love,
Shaun, Erica, and Zoe

Hello Everyone! Zoe has been everywhere...or so it seems...in the last week and a half. Before we left for Montana, we took her to the beach for the first time because it was our 4th anniversary. It was windy and chilly, so she didn't get the full experience of the sand and water...just a walk on the Ventura Pier. Then the next day we flew to Montana. Zoe was such a trooper and did very well on all 4 flights. We stayed in Montana to visit with Shaun's family for a week. She also went on her first long car ride. 3 and a half hours!!! She was a little restless on the trip back for the last 20-30 minutes, but who can blame her! We have been home for a few days now and we went to my parents house last night and Shaun and I witnessed her rolling over for the first time! It was sooooooo exciting, we scared her because we were cheering for her so loud...she did it once more for my mom. She continues to grow like a weed and turned 3 months on Saturday. We are almost ready for 3-6 months clothing. More to come later...

Love,

Shaun, Erica, and Zoe

We Are Finally Up and Running!!!

Well it only took me 3 months to realize how much easier it would be to just post blogs, than to keep emailing everyone updates. So if you would like to keep up with Zoe's updates, just check the blog every so often. I will try to post about once a week (try is the key word :) ).

Zoe is growing so fast, we can't believe it. She got a "silky" blanket that was made by one of our closest friend's moms and we put her on the floor with it yesterday. She rolled over from her stomach to her back about 5 more times! Later I put the silky down on the couch and scooted her across the blanket. She glides really well over it and she began giggling with the cutest belly laugh. Shaun and I feel so lucky to be able to spend this time with her. After returning from Montana, my goal was to put Zoe down in her crib at night instead of the Amby bed in our room. She has had 3 nights in her room so far and so far, so good! We are working back up to the 8 hours, but she sleeps about 6 to 6 and half hours straight. I can't ask for anything more than that!
