Zoe is Two!!!

Zoe turned two today!!! She was so excited that it was her birthday. The joke is when she is asked how old she is, she smirks and says five and holds up five fingers. Later she will correct herself and will say two. This morning she woke us, as usual, and we went into her room to sing her Happy Birthday. It was too cute to see her perk up and jump up and down. I think she is really starting to like this birthday stuff. We really started emphasizing birthdays when Daddy had his birthday in January. I asked her this morning whose birthday it was and she said, "Ummmm...Grandma's?" I said, "No, she already had her turn." "Ummmm...Jasmine's?" I said, "No, hers is next month." I told her it was her turn today. She beamed from ear to ear. I told her we had something special for her in the living room and there she found presents, cards and balloons. She is filled with expressions in these pics. We are forever laughing and enjoying all of her expressions. We went to dinner tonight and she blew out her two candles on her special cake. That definitely made me a nervous mommy, watching her get that close to the candles, but she blew them right out! She was so proud, she clapped and said Yay! We are now looking forward to celebrating with more friends and family at her birthday party in two weeks. It will be a ladybug filled day :)

Our Little Girl is Growing Up!!!

Our little girl is growing up so quickly before our eyes. She is talking up a storm and speaks in full sentences. Her pronunciation has completely amazed us. Grandma taught Zoe to say "See you later alligator, after while crocodile." Believe or not, she can say it and it is pretty clear for a little one not even two yet.

Homework is still a favorite of hers. She can name everything on her flashcards (about 150) and we can ask her questions of the different objects that she answers. One of her cards is a baby and I will ask, "What is the baby doing?" She says, "The baby sitting." Another one of her cards is a moon and she will tell me the moon comes out when it's dark. We are still working on our colors because we tend to get those mixed up quite often. The other day when Papa and YiaYia were visiting, she counted "5, 6, 7, 8, 9...". It was in order and she can count 1-5 when she is not being silly. During bathtime we have bath crayons, so we love to color during bathtime (and shoot hoops with Daddy, of course!). I like to practice her shapes when we color. She is unbelieveable! She know 6 shapes already!!! She can identify and name a circle, square, star, heart, triangle, and rectangle. I wrote her name and I asked her what she thought it said and she said, "Zoe! Mi name." Spanglish :)...

Just the other day I was finishing up my report cards at home on the computer and she said, "Mommy finish your homework." Grandma and Grandpa keep telling us how funny she is. They can't believe how well she understands humor already.

She is super observant and on car rides anywhere we tell her to search for different things. When it is visible she points it out right away. Her favorites to point out right now are motorcycles, big trucks, school buses, and city buses.

I got her a pair of velcro maryjanes and she can put on her own shoes now! She blew us away when she came in the room with her shoes on, so now every morning she wears those, she puts them on herself. Can you tell that we are proud parents?

Zoe's two year birthday is coming up! Shaun and I literally cry when we think about how big our little squirt (her nickname before we knew if she was a boy or girl) has become. She is so amazing and we are extremely blessed to have such an inquisitve, observant, cautious, bright, and fun loving little girl. We couldn't have asked for anything more!

Water Fun!

Time for water play!!! This is the best time of year because it is starting to warm up and we can play with water. I took Zoe to the Janss Marketplace during the water show at the fountains and Zoe danced and played in the water.

Happy First Birthday Ryder and Jadyn!!!

Ryder and Jadyn turned one on February 15th!!! Time is flying!!! It seems like days ago we found out that Greg and Heather were having twins and now they are one! Auntie Heather put on a great party again...at Lost Canyons (where Shaun and I got married). The kids were too cute and loved their cake!
Big Bro...enjoying the party.

Smiley Birhtday Boy

Zoe now LOVES jumpers!!!

Mmmmmm...cake!!!

Danty Birthday Girl

Forget danty!!! This stuff is GOOD!

Addie's Birthday Weekend

We drove out to Blythe for Addison's third birthday. It was a long drive because it was raining the whole way, but it was a great weekend. Jackson and Addison really like playing with Zoe and Zoe is now interacting with them. It is really neat to see. Shaun and I cannot believe how much Zoe is growing up. It just seems like not too long ago our Godson, Jackson was born. He is now 5!!! And Addie is 3...loves to dress up and I am sure Zoe will learn a thing or two about dressing up from her.
Caketime at Addie's 3rd Birthday Party...the most cake and ice cream Zoe has ever eaten!!!

Oh Mommy, I am not sure about this...

This is great! I love playing in the rain with Jackson and Addie!

Jackson was getting creative with the slide :)

Wow! It's Been a LONG Time!!!

We took Daddy to the Santa Barbara Zoo for the first time. Zoe showed him around. We had a day off in January, so what better way to spend it, but with the fam at the zoo?! Shaun and I thought it was time to get a membership, so now we can go whenever. Zoe loves the animals and is so fascinated with them. It is a great half day trip.
Look at the birdies!

Wow!

WEEeeeee!

Say cheese Zoe!

Sliding with Daddy
Grandma wanted to go to the zoo with the two oldest grandkids, so we went a couple weeks ago. Zach and Zoe had a great time. They were so good and really liked watching the active animals. I think some of the favorites were the elephants, penguins, and otters.
Eeew! A huge lizard...

Looking at the birdies...

"Look Grandma, penguins!"

Ready, Set, Jump!

Our poor kiddo has allergies, like Mommy. I think that we figured it out and she should be fine when we go to the zoo as long as we take a little Claritin :)...

Hangin' with My Cuz'

After the zoo and a little nap on the way home, Zach came over to play for a little while. Zoe is so lucky to have cousins that will be so close :)

Zoe Danced in the New Year

Zoe absolutely loves to dance, so she likes to ask for music over at Jeff and Wendy's house to dance til her lil' heart's content. She rocked it on New Year's Eve. It was too cute. One of her favorites that night was the chicken dance, so now every time we go across the street she asks for the "birdie" song. Happy New Year everyone!!!
