Softball in the Spring (Zoe's First Season)

 Opening Day...Fun with Dress Up

Zoe's New Painted Helmet
 Rockin' Twisted Softball Sisters

Zoe blew us away this year, with many firsts.  We told her that we signed her up for softball and initially she was so excited.  As the first practice date approached she began asking a lot of questions and showed a lot of uncertainty.  Shaun helped coach for regular season, so he took her to her first practice and she would not get out of the car.  She told Daddy that she did not want to play anymore and that they needed to go home.  Daddy was so excited to get started that he gave one of his pep talks and she knows that if she tries something for a season and does not like it, that we will not make her play another season.  With that in mind, she went out there...a couple painful games (to watch) later, she was doing so well!  She loves softball and at the end of the season, she was asked to play on the all-star team!

Zoe had such a good time playing and is looking forward to next year.  She is a bit nervous because it's kid-pitch next year, but will practice with Daddy, so she will be just fine.  Mommy has learned to embrace softball because when I was Zo's age, I wanted nothing to do with a softball ever again...

Twins' Scooter Jungle Party

 Party Hair
Zo and the birthday girl...6 years old!!!
 Even the adults had fun!
 Birthday kids...

This place was super cool!  This indoor play place was so much fun for all of us.  And the best part is that we had the place to ourselves, so we didn't even have to keep a close eye on the kids...they couldn't go far.  Happy Birthday Lil' Ones!  We cannot get over how fast the kids are growing!!!

Zoe's Living History Performance

We are such proud parents!!!  Zoe brought home a form one day, letting us know that she needed to pick a person/symbol from history to research and write about.  Daddy took her to the library and narrowed it down to Walt Disney and Amelia Earhart.  Her teacher assigned her Amelia Earhart and we were reading all the books that we checked out from the library.  She was instructed to write a few sentences and then she was to memorize them.  I learned that it would be a performance and she would need a costume as well.  As a teacher, I always love the homemade costumes better than something purchased, so I decided to get to work.  Wendy gave us a brown cardigan that she didn't need anymore and we got the felt and fabric needed to create the rest.  It is one that we will be saving and perhaps her sister can be the same or someone can be a pilot for Halloween.  We were extremely pleased with the whole class' presentation.  Zo's teacher works so hard with her class and we really appreciate it.  Zoe has come so far from the super shy 3-4 year old little girl, who would not sing or dance with her preschool classes at all to her stellar performance this week.

Happy New Year!!!

Well, let me start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year!  And a healthy one too!!!  We rang in the new year with the flu.  It knocked out all of us, except Daddy, on and off for almost a whole week!  This just means we will have a much healthier year ;).  This flu put Kylee in the ER early one morning (for blood in her spit up), in which the doctor was not concerned at all...said the cough broke some blood vessels, causing the bits of brownish blood.  The advice nurse told us to take her in.  Jeepers!  This little girl needs to stop steering us toward the ER!  A few days later we decided to send her into her pediatrician because the cough paired with the flu is so gnarly.  She said, "It's just a virus."  Sometimes those words are the most annoying when you are trying to get relief for your little munchkin.  Zoe is such a trooper when she is sick now and naps if she is just not well and will let us know what she needs or what is bothering her.  The fevers have come and gone, but we are hoping they will finally stay away.  We are looking forward to an adventurous year with family and friends!  Happy New Year!

Christmas Day

What?!  He really ate the cookies?

Have to crawl in, to see if anything else is in there...
 Shopkins
 Paw Patrol Overload!
Oh my!  Marshall (Paw Patrol) gloves...

Merry Christmas!  I can't believe how fast this year has come and gone.  The kids woke up and stayed in their beds, as we instructed, so that they wouldn't catch Santa on accident.  We got them up and went out into the living room to see that Santa had come!  And more importantly for Ky, that he had eaten the cookies we left out for him.  We opened presents at home and headed to Papa and YiaYia's to see them and Kris, Meghan, Khloe and Kaitlin before we hosted Christmas at our house.  The girls opened presents and played together before we headed back home.  Grandma and Grandpa, Auntie Heather and Uncle Greg, Zach, Ryder, Jadyn, and Nana came over to celebrate.  The kids played all afternoon, we had dinner, and they put on a little show before we called it a night.  It was such a relaxing day!
