Happy New Year!!!
Well, let me start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year! And a healthy one too!!! We rang in the new year with the flu. It knocked out all of us, except Daddy, on and off for almost a whole week! This just means we will have a much healthier year ;). This flu put Kylee in the ER early one morning (for blood in her spit up), in which the doctor was not concerned at all...said the cough broke some blood vessels, causing the bits of brownish blood. The advice nurse told us to take her in. Jeepers! This little girl needs to stop steering us toward the ER! A few days later we decided to send her into her pediatrician because the cough paired with the flu is so gnarly. She said, "It's just a virus." Sometimes those words are the most annoying when you are trying to get relief for your little munchkin. Zoe is such a trooper when she is sick now and naps if she is just not well and will let us know what she needs or what is bothering her. The fevers have come and gone, but we are hoping they will finally stay away. We are looking forward to an adventurous year with family and friends! Happy New Year!
Christmas Day
What?! He really ate the cookies?
Have to crawl in, to see if anything else is in there...
Shopkins
Paw Patrol Overload!
Oh my! Marshall (Paw Patrol) gloves...
Merry Christmas! I can't believe how fast this year has come and gone. The kids woke up and stayed in their beds, as we instructed, so that they wouldn't catch Santa on accident. We got them up and went out into the living room to see that Santa had come! And more importantly for Ky, that he had eaten the cookies we left out for him. We opened presents at home and headed to Papa and YiaYia's to see them and Kris, Meghan, Khloe and Kaitlin before we hosted Christmas at our house. The girls opened presents and played together before we headed back home. Grandma and Grandpa, Auntie Heather and Uncle Greg, Zach, Ryder, Jadyn, and Nana came over to celebrate. The kids played all afternoon, we had dinner, and they put on a little show before we called it a night. It was such a relaxing day!
Christmas with Ching Clan
The family got together to watch the kiddos open their presents from each other and they had such a blast playing together. Baz and Kylee played with Baz' new planes and Kylee's new Paw Patrol truck. They were in heaven. Later that night the boys, Zach and Ryder, had a saber war, including some hiding. And to top off the night, the girls, Zoe and Jadyn, with a here and there boy voice, sang into Zoe's new karaoke machine. They always have such a good time together! Thank you everybody for all the wonderful gifts!
Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve, we made it to church. It was a nice service and Ky was so engaged because she knew a couple of the songs they chose to sing. This year it was earlier than in years past, so that was nice to be able to get home and prepare for Santa's arrival (we definitely needed it!). Zoe reminded me that we needed to leave carrots out on the grass for the reindeer and then we put out the cookies (one especially for Santa) and milk. It was a great night and the girls were ready for Christmas! Kylee has helped us to share the many reasons for the season and Zoe was just as excited to give, as she was to receive this year!
Disneyland with Papa, YiaYia, Kris, Meghan, Khloe, and Kaitlin
Disneyland was so fun with the girls a bit older. Zoe and Khloe always seem to pick up right where they left off and it doesn't take them much time to start giggling together again. We went to Disneyland and California Adventure for two days. We spent a lot of the first day at California Adventure and the girls enjoyed the Disney Jr. show. Ky and Kaitlin were so into it! Ky was up and dancing, singing and using her hands as they told her to. They saw the sing along show for Frozen too! One of the favorites to add to our list of must dos is the Toy Story Mania adventure. Boy! That is the most fun!!! We all had a great time on that ride, even all of the adults! And of course we couldn't miss A Bugs Land...it is all of the kid friendly rides, with minimal lines. The girls love all the rides and they (the older girls) were almost able to ride by themselves! Wow! That means that they are getting so big! We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. It was yummy and the girls had a blast watching the fish. Three out of the four kiddos fell asleep by about 8.
We headed back the next day and battled the rain. What an adventure! A couple of hours into our day, we decided to switch up the schedule a bit and go to Goofy's Kitchen for lunch, instead of dinner. That way we could make it to the new parade. The girls enjoyed seeing the characters up close, but Ky wasn't too sure about too close. She would wave and wave and say hello, but then when the characters came close enough for a pic, she wanted nothing to do with it. It's getting better though and I am sure she will love the characters within the year! We went back to the park and went on a few more rides, then sat down for the parade. By then it had dried up and rain was no longer in the forecast. We sat the girls down on our thick blankets and YiaYia and I ran to get some food. The girls had a quick picnic before the parade began. It was such a great parade!!! We were very impressed with all the lighting. We had such a good time at Disneyland! The girls already want to go back. Thank you Papa and YiaYia for the hotel stay and the wonderful meals!!! And we were so excited to be able to hang out with Kris, Meghan, Khloe and Kaitlin again. We can't wait to see them again, soon!
