VC Fair

The VC Fair was so fun this year because the little dare devil wanted to go on EVERYTHING.  It was such a disappointment if she was too short.  We went on roller coasters and the kids had a great time going OVER and OVER again into a fun house with a huge clear tube slide.  It had a plexiglass  maze, so the kids would feel their way around...it was hilarious to see the kids completely plow into the plexiglass thinking that it was an outlet.  Poor Kylee looked like a little fly when she banged into it.  The kids are getting so big, so fast, so the little kiddie area isn't so much fun for them...The kids watched the pig races this year and they got a good kick out of the little show.

More from the Cruise

The girls had the best time basking in the sun on this trip.  We also learned how to make a towel animal and with the help of YiaYia and Daddy, Zoe was able to make an elephant.  That was pretty fun.  Kylee loved the tiny pool on the upper deck because she could lay down and enjoy the sunshine.  She really wished she was big enough for the water slide.  I believe we have a dare devil in the making!  Kylee wasn't too afraid of the towel animals, so she wanted the monkey to lay down with her...jeepers!  It was difficult to get the monkey to lay down and stay in one piece!

Cruise to Puerta Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas

Kylee told Papa that she wanted to go on another big boat, so we talked and Papa and YiaYia said they would take us on a little cruise to Mexico.  Shortly after our conversation, Papa found us a cruise...not a little one...a seven night to Puerta Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.  We were so excited!  In August we enjoyed another cruise with Papa and YiaYia.  It was a lot of fun and the girls played on the beach in both Puerta Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.  In Cabo, we took the girls on a small glass bottom water taxi around the Arch of Cabo San Lucas.  They saw a ton of sea lions and beautiful beaches.  We played some BINGO and did a little shopping on land and on the ship.  Zoe caught a woman's attention one of the first nights aboard.  She worked at the jewelry store and asked Zoe's name and from that point on, Zoe always wanted to go by and say hello.  By the fourth night, she was calling Zoe her little diva.  The second to last night, Patricia, made her a special bracelet out of the chains by the inch.  For free!!!   It was such a nice gesture and Zoe felt so special.  Zoe decided to write her a nice note for the last night.  It said that she was happy to have met such a nice friend on the ship and that she was so funny.  When we delivered it to her, it made her cry and Zoe made her cruise!  It was so special.  And wow!  Zoe volunteered to go up on stage during one of the kid friendly shows.  She was SO close to winning the tongue twister!!  Shaun and I couldn't believe our eyes!  She has come a long way, in three years!!!  Kylee loved being able to sit near a porthole at dinnertime.  She had a great time shaking her toosh on the dance floor.  And surprisingly, she decided she liked the attention the photographers gave her.  It was so nice to spend time with Papa and YiaYia.  Thank you Papa and YiaYia!!!

Swimming this Summer

Zoe continued her swim lessons with "Mean Marjean, the Swimming Machine" this summer and Kylee started as well!  Zoe swam so well after her first set of lessons that she transitioned to the lane, to practice with lap swimming.  She became so good and really confident!  Kylee was a little guppy, she floated with her head in the water...and eventually learned that if she kicked she would get to the other instructor much faster ;).  She started out, not so much a fan, but after Mean Marjean dunked her a few times for crying, she got much better.  She will "swim" without fear now!!!

Mini Golf for Uncle Greg's Birthday

The girls went mini golfing with Uncle Greg to celebrate his birthday.  They had so much fun!

Movies with Auntie Diana

We saw two movies with Auntie Diana this summer!  The kids love the movies and we saw Inside Out and Minions.  Auntie spoils them with popcorn and goodies too!

Camarillo Fiesta

We spent a little while at the Camarillo Fiesta this summer.  The kids got so excited about the rides, but we reminded them that the fair was coming up and they would definitely want to save our money, so they could ride more at the fair (wink, wink).  It was pretty hot that day too!
