Our Summer Project

Before Renovation

 After Day One

 After Day Two
 After Day Three

 After Day Four

Zoe swam during renovations to stay cool.
Kylee slept outside on the couch during renovation. :)
 Textured walls...

All white is not our style :)
Blue primer because we picked a darker blue for that focus wall.

We decided that a house project would be cool, so we had some major work done.  Our half wall near the door is gone, the half wall separating the kitchen and living space is gone, the ugly white poles with notches are gone :), the beam toward the ceiling that separated the two rooms moved up into the attic, and the drop ceiling as you enter our house is gone.  It makes the space we have so open, we love it!  I am still in the process of putting things back together, so the final pic will be posted soon (ok, let's be real...soon with two kids and starting school may be a while).

Whose Child is This?

Zoe needed a TB screening for preschool at our school, so we have been trying to prep her for it. She was a champ! NO tears!!! Holy cow, what a BIG girl!!!

Planet Talk

Zoe was with us when we picked up our classroom keys and we went to check out what we could get started on. When we walked into Shaun's room his globe was on his desk and Zoe noticed it. She asked, "Mommy, what planet is that? Of course I had to look to Shaun with that look of...did she really say what I think she just said?! So my response was a question to her, just to see what she would say.  I asked, "What planet do you think it is, Zo?"  She said, "Earth!"  Shaun and I were in disbelief!  Then she asked, "Where do we live on Earth?"  Seriously?  Shaun showed her and then she wanted to know where our babysitter, Goya, lived.

Zoe's Chopsticks

We went out to eat with Grandma and Grandpa to a new Chinese restaurant and they had children's chopsticks.  Zoe absolutely loved using her own chopsticks like Grandma and she even got to take them home.  Thanks Grandma!  One day she will use real chopsticks, but for now the children's chopsticks are awesome.

Swimming/Water Play

Hanging with Grandpa in the Pool
Kylee's First Official Swim (Hmmm...Not too bad!)

Zo has learned to love playing in the sprinklers recently.
 Playing with the rainbow...
In the past few weeks, Zoe has gotten more and more exposure to the pool and she is gaining the confidence she needs to swim on her own.  She goes all the way under the water and basically swims on her own by just holding her hands.  Maybe by the end of the summer, she will gain the confidence.  Lately she has wanted to play in the sprinklers and she has a blast.

Aquarium of the Pacific

Zach in front of the Aquarium
Grandma and kiddos looking at the wave maker...

 Say Cheese Ryder :)
 Tuckered herself out playing ;)
 Kylee and Cousins
We took the girls to the Aquarium of the Pacific with Grandma, Zach, Ryder, Auntie Marilynn, Darren, Vicky, Sebastian, Uncle David, Auntie Jocelyn, Karen and Katherine.  It was a good time and we topped it off with a trip to Bubba Gump Shrimp for an early dinner.

All Smiles in the Jumper

Kylee's little legs are long enough for her jumper and she absolutely loves it!  She will spend up to an hour in it, looking around, bouncing and playing with her toys.
