First Time on the Park Swings

We went to our neighbor, Jasmine's, first birthday party and Zoe went on the swings for the first time! She wasn't sure at first, but seemed to like them after a few pushes.

Bubble Bath Time!

Zoe has a new bathtub because Shaun and our neighbor, Jeff, remodeled Zoe's bathroom. It had a stand up shower in it when we bought our house and we knew that was a project that must be done. I love how it turned out and I am sure Zoe will enjoy it for many years to come.

She absolutely loves bubbles, so we tried a bubble bath. What a hit! We had so much fun playing with the bubbles. They make Zoe so curious.

Zoe's First Trip to The Santa Barbara Zoo

"I was hatched"

Steven and Zoe on the grass hill. Weeeeeee!

Mommy and Zoe on the train.

Zoe loved sitting on the turtle statue.
Zoe forgot to let us know that she has another family. ;)

Those flamingos were very entertaining and eye catching.

Shaun was golfing in a tournament in Santa Barbara with our neighbor Jeff, so I decided with our neighbor Wendy, to take the kids there and meet Shaun and Jeff for dinner. We went to the zoo and it was Zoe's first trip. She seemed to love it. She was in awe of all the animals, especially the ones that were up and moving around. We took a train ride and saw the giraffes laying down, and the lions sleeping in the sun. Steven, Jeff and Wendy's son, took Zoe down the faux grass hill on a piece of cardboard. Zoe liked it so much that she asked for more in sign language every time they got to the bottom.

Just Hangin' Out

Zoe is becoming quite the HAM these days. I had to run an errand and Shaun was gone, so Zoe was going with me. She wanted to play outside, so I said, "Bye-bye Zoe, Mommy is going bye-bye". She proceeded to wave happily and had a really big smile. So much for that plan!

She loves to try to put her shoes and socks on by herself. It's pretty cute to see her open the sock and get a few toes in, but then get stuck. There are about 5-6 signs that she uses all the time now. She signs more, thank you, please, milk, all done, and eat. It is getting harder to say no to her because she looks at you and signs please. When you give her something she signs thank you and she says something that sounds like a baby thank you. If I ask her to ask nicely for something, she signs please. Hopefully she will continue to be polite :).
The pics: We hang out with our neighbors and their little one once or twice a week and the girls are starting to interact with one another more. It is pretty fun to watch. Zoe is a fan of bagels and cream cheese. She is a big GRIZZ fan and loves to wear Daddy's hat.

Happy First Birthday! April 11, 2010

We had a nice relaxing day at home on Zoe's birthday. She started walking too!!! What a birthday present. Now she is cruising around everywhere! There was more cake and even a birthday hat. One of our friend's moms makes the decorative hats, so we had to get a picture. Thanks Amanda! Zoe got tons of new toys and loves playing with all of them.

Cake Take Two!

Zoe was not in the mood for cake at her birthday party, so on her actual birthday, the following weekend, she tried it again. I started a piece for her and she was very dainty with it. She didn't want to dive in, so she just took tiny bites without touching it. Heaven forbid her hands get all sticky! She did like it though, but unlike her mommy, she only ate a little bit. Her cake was delicious, but Shaun would like white cake next year because he is not a chocolate fan.

Catch Up Time!!!

Holy Cow!!! It has been a long time! Sorry! Shaun and I have had a crazy busy last couple of months. We were wrapping up the school year as usual, packing AGAIN, and enjoying what extra time we had with Zoe. We are laid off again, but are hopeful to get a job back...whether it be subbing for our daily rate or an actual contract. Our district is in shambles right now, so it is just a matter of waiting to find out what the class size decision is.

I will post a few updates now...
